Within a mere 5 months of their debut, SUPERMATIC is the name on the scene, playing with Flickerstick, Marvelous3 and opening for Georgia Satellites and Jefferson Starship. They are a favorite of the National Academy of Recording Arts & Sciences/Atlanta, have been involved with the Jim Beam Emerging Artist Program and will be featured in the premiere issue of Cover Magazine.
Lawson, an award winning solo singer/songwriter (Best Unplugged-Atlanta Local Music Awards 1999/2001; Jezebel Magazine's Best Unplugged Artist for 2001; ASCAP Songwriter of the Year, 1999), has shared the stage with such notables as the Indigo Girls, Shawn Colvin, Ann Wilson, The Pushstars, Marvelous 3 and Josh Joplin. A seasoned artist, J.J. is best known for his time spent with the Marvelous 3, but has garnered considerable attention with Eliot James and the Snakes and the Pleasantdales. Well known in the studio circuit, McNally has performed and recorded with TLC, and 3 Lost Souls. Lee has toured, recorded and performed with Johnny Hyde, Marvelous 3, and Peter Searcy.
"The idea of SUPERMATIC" says Lawson, "...is to let each of us do what we do best...in theory...we should end up with something incredibly special."
